Sensing Technology for Solving Real-World Challenges
Real-world road surfaces present a diverse mix of materials with vastly different reflectivity. For autonomous mobile robots (AMR) and outdoor AGVs, distinguishing between dark asphalt and bright white lane markings is a critical sensing challenge.
To demonstrate our sensor’s adaptability, we have released Sample Data “Crosswalk Lines”. This dataset showcases how the TOPPAN ToF sensor delivers stable and reliable sensing, even in high-contrast environments. For scenarios with extreme lighting variations, our proprietary High Dynamic Range (HDR) mode is the ideal solution to ensure consistent performance without frame rate deterioration.
Whats’ Inside the Dataset?

| Scenario | Details |
|---|---|
| Target Objects | Standard Road Lane Markings / Crosswalk Lines |
| Primary Challenge | High-contrast reflectivity (Dark Asphalt vs. White Lines) |
| Ambient Light Tolerance | Stable performance under direct outdoor sunlight (Up to 100,000 lx) |
| Proprietary Feature | Evaluation of HDR Mode for extreme contrast scenes |
